We are closing down the Warren DeLano Memorial Fnnd this year. We much appreciate the Silicon Valley Community Foundation for hosting it these last three years. We are very happy to have created a prize in Warren's name with the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology as well as a prize and lecture with 3Dsig
.
Thank you for all of the contributions. We hope that these efforts will encourage others to write open source software and develop accessible technological tools that will advance scientific discovery.

2 Years
It has been two years since Warren died. Despite the time, I still feel like it is an impossibility. I wish he were here to meet his niece and nephew. Many wish he were here to continue his work with Pymol and the scientific community.

Updates
I cannot tell you how much your memories mean to us.
Our father, Jim was able to sit down and read some of the stories. He was so touched.
Today we updated jmdelano.com and we got a foundation entity set-up so that we can take donations in place of flowers. As some of you noted, we lost not only Warren, but all that Warren could have been. He could have made significant contributions to science through the continued development of open source modeling tools. To continue his work & dream, we're raising money to support open source scientific software. Please donate instead of giving flowers.
